Below is a map of Ocracoke Island and a few pictures taken from our anchorage in Silver Lake. Ocracoke is surrounded by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

Nancy was up early this morning hand sewing our torn sail. A woman of many talents!!!

It's very hot and humid here in Ocracoke. Go figure, North Carolina seashore in September!! The dog days of summer. Later today, we plan to take our bikes ashore and do a little more sightseeing and we'll surely pedal over to the ocean side of the island and enjoy a little time in the water.

We are SO jealous. Know anyone that wants to sell a sailboat? (Seriously - NOT)? Nice pics - nice place, except for the heat and humidity.

Tom, I have some fond (though somewhat fuzzy) memories of Ocracoke... spent some time on Hatteras and there just after graduating HS in 1973. Seems I recall losing track of a full case of Busch Bavarian over there in a campground - keep your eyes peeled for that, would you? Enjoy your time there!

Randy - I suspect if you lost a case of beer here, it was a case of empties!!!
