I just found an interesting web site showing pictures of the 2008 clearing of snow from the Going to the Sun Road, here in Glacier NP. I understand that it is considered to be one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. When I can get to the top at Logan's Pass and psot some pictures from up there, I believe you'll understand why!! Check out the pictures on this site.

Due to an avalanche the previous winter, the road didn't open last year until July 1, 2007. They had to construct a temporary bridge to span the area of the road missing due to this avalanche. I had a chance to drive up from St. Mary (east side) that first day and the views were spectacular. I expect no less this year, even though I've now driven the road several times.
